This journal talks about the findings of a research that examined the attitude of nursing students to academic cheating. It also highlights the prediction of the student future practice after graduation. The reach findings indicate that there is the tendency to see academic dishonesty as a normal occurrence; the most commonly committed act is plagiarism. The research found out that there are correlations between personal characteristics and attitude towards cheating. Some of the recommendations from the research include raising awareness about the growing problem and its future implication. To institute policies that promoted integrity and also establish policies regarding penalties to deter students and other staff from dishonesty.

The article reviews some of the literature to assess the evidence that can facilitate the implementation of certain strategies to deter cheating. Six databases were searched using various terms related to nursing practice and more than 28,000 publications were reviewed based on the US higher education and nursing integrity. Some of the publication talked about student misconduct, nursing cheating nursing policy, and nursing integrity. There were no comprehensive faculty practices found in the reviewed literature based on academic nursing practice. A total of forty-three articles met the criteria as they indicated action plans and deterrent strategies of misconduct in another profession. The article shows clearly the need for nursing practice to research on the processes and develops policies that can guide implementation of specific cheating deterrent strategies.

The article reviewed most recent publications on various topics related to academic dishonesty including unethical professional practices. Some of research that studied the correlation between the two was also reviewed. Various literatures were retrieved using keywords like dishonesty, cheating at the workplace and unethical behavior. A total of 16 research articles were retrieved for review. The research finding indicates that other professions like engineering and business have conducted comprehensive research related to dishonesty compared to the nursing profession. There is need for nursing profession to conduct its research and educators should be more concerned with unethical behaviors in nursing profession as it might affect registered nurses in future

According to the authors, academic dishonesty among college student has become rampant, therefore, should not be underestimated because student decisions to cheat will affect their future outcomes especially in workplaces. The article presents research conducted at the University in north Taiwan. The results findings indicated that perceived behavioral control towards cheating and profession unethical beliefs impact greatly on the intention to cheat. The research included additional variable like unethical ideas related to the workplace to investigate first-year business students on job placement. Using a sample size of 215 students, the research found out that ethical behavior is influenced by peer ethical or unethical behavior. Also, school, teachers or supervisors play a significant role in affecting student's intention towards unethical behavior. The research recommends that there need to conduct series of ethics education especially during classroom discussion to reinforce and change the ethical standards in colleges.

This article explores the relation between dispositional traits and pharmacy student's attitudes towards cheating in university setting. Using questionnaire pharmacy students in the southern United States conducted self-assessment that included self-esteem, self-efficacy idealism, relativism, tolerance for peer cheating, detachment from the University and other demographic information were part of the questionnaire After analyzing the results the research found out that gender, the degree of idealism and the Machiavellian traits influenced students attitudes towards cheating .as age, grade point average, race, income and marital status did not affect student attitude towards cheating . However, idealism was inversely related to the likelihood of students to engage in cheating or tolerate cheating.

Harper reviews related to unintended outcomes of use of technology in nursing education. She states that technology is more convenient, flexible and efficient for continuous education unfortunately academic dishonesty including plagiarism has shown a correlation between increased use of technology and poor nursing practices. In one of literature reviewed evidence suggests that academic dishonesty is a predictor of workplace dishonesty. Given this correlation between unethical classroom behaviour and unethical clinical behaviour ,efforts to curb academic dishonesty can help dispel professional misconduct in future .a combined high-tech and low-tech methods may be used minimize unethical behaviour among students and other practicing professional nurses to maintain integrity in the nursing profession .

Due to the advancement of technology unique opportunities have been created for cheating. The article identifies reasons why students cheat .it describes the relationship between student cheating and workplace behavior. The article highlight findings from recent studies on physician and engineers suggesting that students who cheat while in school is a forecaster for subsequent disciplinary action by licensing boards, especially in workplaces. This has become a concern for physical therapists, and they are calling for an academic program to address academic integrity. Physical therapist educators need to recognize the fact that cheating is a life behavior that begins as early in college; it tends to perpetuate into professional education and subsequently affect individuals practice and employment. There is need to introduce professional behaviour expectations early in professional programs along with appropriate assessment strategies to develop ethical decision-making skills for students.
