Research indicates that you and your friends are likely to have fewer children than your parents and grandparents. What do you think are reasons for this?

According to Whelpton, Campbell and Patterson (2015), having fewer children is more fashionable these days than yesteryears. This trend is not likely to flag. There is a sharp contrast between the lives my parents and grandparents led and mine. Whereas theirs encouraged siring many children, modern life does the opposite. I will prefer to have a small number of children so as to enable me to give them the very best that life has to offer without working myself to death while at it.
Urbanization is gaining pace in every corner of the planet. Coupled with higher education, it is becoming trendy for the young people to hang around town in search of employment after graduation. Having a large family within the urban set up is ill-advised because of the tribulations of housing and providing other basic needs. The bigger the number of children, the greater the chances that one will need a big house for the children to call home. This translates to more expenses. Contrary to this, our folks did not have to worry about this. Most of them moved back to their villages after and nearest towns after higher education where expenses were minimal; favoring them to have a big number of children.
