Since the advent of the 20th century or more precisely, the mid-20th century computers have undergone a major revolution consequently becoming one of the basic requirements of any individual seeking self-development. In addition, technology in general has vastly progressed since the great leap from the innate technology to the super-technology inaugurating from the late 1980s to the current advanced tech we use today. Computer revolution has resulted to significant changes, which are evident from the disparity between the technologies that were utilized thirty years ago and the technologies utilized today. There are several reasons that have caused the great computer and technology revolution.
To begin with, individuals require developing technology to increase their knowledge, have the ability to control complicated systems, have the capacity to simplify cumbersome technicalities. For example, students in decades past were experiencing problems accessing educational information so there was the need to advance computers to the level where they would have the ability to provide adequate information and additionally providing easier access. In the need to control complicated systems and provide solutions to problems that are beyond the ability of human beings. The revolution of technology was needed to improve the standards of living of human beings, for example, the revolution of technology has resulted in the discovery of DNA, which plays a major role in solving problems like identifying criminals and providing medical practitioners the ability to cure, prevent and control chronic ailments. The revolution of computer and technology can also be accredited to the advancement in education and the need for people to learn. In addition, international competition between Nations and companies can be credited to influencing the revolution of technology. Recently there have been intense competition between major companies especially tech companies, computer companies, and smart phone companies. It has been well documented that Samsung Corporation, an electronics powerhouse from South Korea and Apples Inc. share a healthy competition that has led to both companies revolutionary advancement in the Smartphone industry. Countries have contributed to the advancement of technology through efforts to subdue each other especially in the sector of military advancement. These represent some of the causes that can be credited with the revolution of computer and technology.
There are numerous effects of computer and technology revolution and they are documented in many articles. It is of paramount importance to note that revolution of computer has resulted in negative and positive effects conclusively. The positive effects of the revolution of technology are evident ranging from the ability to cure, prevent and control ailments like cancer, HIV/AIDs that in the former years resulted in many deaths. The revolution has contributed significantly to the improved quality of items produced by better technology.
