Contract Law
A contract law is a requirement of the labour sector, which lays down the rights and responsibilities between two parties. These include employer and employee. It also acts as a reference of bargain for the two parties. Employers have a calling to provide working conditions that enable both men and women to perform work at their convenience (Douglas, 2011). The express terms of working hours are those agreed between the employer and employee. These include the actual working hours that the employee should work, and the time-off that is allowed by the employer. Contract laws spell the employment terms and specify duties and responsibilities.
Contract laws influence the salary paid to employees. The employer and employee agree on the amount to be paid as salary during at the time of signing the contract. The average earnings have consistently risen following the introduction of the contract laws. Other employers even specify the amount to be paid. It also includes the amount pay that employers should pay employees on overtime work (Douglas, 2011). The implied terms, just as those in hours of work, employers should pay all employees their salaries. Salaries are an agreeable terms between two parts. Contract laws incorporate provisions on allowances, which protect employees from unruly employers. 
A contract law is important in determining the rights of employer and employees. It stipulates the responsibilities of both, based on express and implied terms. On the other hand, the National Minimum Wage (NMW) Act 1998 protects employees, especially the young and inexperienced female employees (Wilmot, 2009). This is carried out by setting minimum wages that they should be offered. The Act impacts on both employers and employees. Employees benefit from an increment in their salaries. As employers are required by a contract law to pay more for employee services, they may be forced to lay off some of them and retain only those they can afford (Wilmot, 2009).
