John Wiley and his sons applaud all the developments that the nation has been able to achieve success and the need for protecting everything that we have worked for as a nation. They outline some of the critical infrastructures within our economy which include the transport and communication network, our natural resources, and assisting in service delivery in different sectors of the economy. John Wiley and sons in their book Critical Infrastructure Protection in Homeland Security also outlines some of the great dangers that we might get subjected to if we fail to offer the required protection to all the critical infrastructure in the American territory.
Some of the major consequences of failing to offer security to the critical infrastructure include; stunted economic growth due to the poor environment brought about by poor planning and poor service delivery in the health sector. The authors also outline the possibilities of adverse impacts to human beings in case of any natural disaster because of poor disaster and risk preparedness by the military in the defense sector.

The author O’Hanlon M is a senior lecturer in foreign policy and main majors in United States defense strategy. He outlines how many countries in the world struggle to obtain the required weapons to protect themselves from their enemies. Most governments all over the world are investing so many resources to be with the world’s best defense and industrial technology base within their territories. The author also outlines how most of the defense sector is one of the sectors in an economy that requires massive allocation of resources. He also further explains how poor management of resources allocated for the defense sector may bring about negative impacts to a nation.
The author also goes ahead to outline some of the key issues that are affecting the defense industrial base currently and prevent or reduce the possibilities of the shortcomings occurring again. The author also looks into the importance of considering the overall emerging trends in the defense industry that may be of great help to them now and in the future. O'Hanlon also highlights the importance and need of the education system to provide more human resources required in the defense industrial base sector.

Col. John Cogbill works in the United States army at the 101st Airborne division. He advocates for increased innovation in the United States army to ensure high levels of service delivery to the people of America both within and beyond the American territories. He argues that technological advances and innovation should first begin from the top-level management in the defense sector. He outlines how embracing innovation and technology will enable them to acquire most of the equipment they need making them readily available. Technology and innovation will assist in addressing all the issues and problems and challenges that the military is always exposed to during service delivery.
He outlines why maintaining a culture of embracing innovation and technology will enable them to make healthy choices through critical thinking processes. Making healthy choices in the defense industrial base sector enables the military to ensure high levels of national security within the American borders. He also highlights the major projects in the defense industrial base sector that have been a success because of innovation processes within the camp; the American army received affordable army housing due to the innovative activities taking place in the sector.
