Electric Cars
When one hears the word electric cars, one thing hits the mind; a car that uses electric power in order to move unlike the conventional cars that use fuel in order to move from one place to the other. Electric cars are driven by one or more electric motors that use electrical energy that is usually stored in batteries which is not the case with conventional cars which use a battery which helps it to start and gasoline is used to enable the engine to drive. 2015 Nissan Leaf SV cost $24,600 and it has some good features that come with it.
It has a 100% electric drivetrain which has a single-speed decrease gear which enables one to be able to exploit the range by shifting to Eco Mode. The car is 100% electric as it has with it a 24kwh lithium-ion battery which is responsible for the storage of the motors power. Attached to it is a 6.6 kW onboard charger which has been upgraded from 3.6 kW which helps to charge the car and it only requires to be plugged in to a 240 volts charging dock. It also provides a 187 lb-ft of force and a horsepower of 107 which makes the car to reach one to their last stop. More to the advantage of the Nissan Leaf is that most Americans drive about 33 miles a day and a single charge for the Nissan Leaf has the ability to take one up to 84 miles which is approximately two and a half times more times. A B- mode (Regenerative Braking Drive Mode) is a good performance by the Nissan Leaf. This means that the car is able to incarceration energy whenever one is accelerating or braking. The meter of the power which does shows the data of the energy also displays whether one is gaining or using the power as one accelerates or brakes. It has a navigating system; dual power heated outside mirrors that are clearly visible, pressure monitoring system, anti-lock braking system as well as advanced airbag system.
To the environment, the electric cars are do not pollute the atmospheres as it does not emit carbon. Its engine combustion of hydroelectric power helps to reduce the global warning potential by 20% to 24 % compared to gasoline’s which are internal combustion engine vehicles which reduce by 10% to 14%. This shows that the vehicle reduces that greenhouse effect unlike the conventional vehicles that releases tons of carbon dioxide productions every year. As to prove that it has zero tailpipe emissions, the Nissan Leaf does not have a tailpipe attached to it. Electric cars are expensive meaning they will cost more compared to the conventional cars. Looking at a span of twelve years which is likely to be the life span of vehicles, one my wonder if the high cost of electric car is costly at all. A conventional car will cover 12,000 miles an year and in 12 years, the car will have covered 144,000 miles. Having in mind that the consumption of gasoline is 30mpg, the car will have consumed 4,800 gallons of gasoline. The cost of gasoline is $3.5 per gallon which means the owner will have used $16,800 in 12 years ...
