I have not had to visit the emergency department in a long time. Actually the last time I remember visiting the emergency department was when I was around 4 years old. However during my last professional experience in a certain local hospital I was able to notice a disturbing trend. Patients spend too much time in the emergency department. From my observation, patients were spending from five to eight hours or even more since they made their way inside and before they left the ED.
