In our society which is somehow believed that it is civilized, there is still a primitive practice of gender roles in lots of regions in Africa at large but in other parts the gender role dividends are no longer practiced due to civilization of people in a given society as well as due to protection by the country’s constitution.
In a country like Kenya, it is to a great applause to the committee who came up with the 2010 constitution which protects the discrimination of genders and ensuring equity in gender treatment. In leadership this constitution states that there should be a third of one gender in the parliament hence if not elected they must be nominated by a large number.
