Question 1
The work environment in the busy UCU environment has always been unfriendly to most new nurses regardless of their intelligence of competence. When Jill joins this team, she must take time acclimatize with this new environment (Blais, 2015). She ought not to have had many expectations in the field. Therefore, the nurses’ mistreatment of Jill is justifiable. One reason being, the nature work in the UCU demands that people be always swift, and ready to work under pressure, this could be the immediate reason nurses reacted this way to Jill.
Moreover, the reactions of the nurses were not faked, but this is the real order of things in the UCU. The nurses have been in the operation for some time and have conditioned themselves to this form, of behavior, and that could be the reason for them reacting this way.
Question 2
There are a series of things that Jill needs to do for her to get fully acclimatized in this new environment. Foremost, Jill should, first of all, learn more about what happens in the real situation in the UCU. From the way Jill has developed a bad perception about the work, there is a possibility of Jill developing strong fears and the perception that she is not capable of working in the UCU. Therefore, Jill is likely to learn under fear and inadequately acquire the skills (Umpiérrez, 2015). Therefore, there is a likelihood of Jill coming out of the excise as an incompetent Nurse. Should that happen, then the lives of many clients that will be trusted in his hands will be at risk.
Question 4
Jill should compile her list of grievances to report this matter to the appropriate authority. As per the culture of health facilities, the administration will investigate the matter and put measures to help avoid the same challenges in the future.
Moreover, Jill needs to let the nurses and the surgeons in the UCU know what she feels about them, and how she is treated in th...
