1 Mental / Educational (What new things will you learn? What education goals will you achieve?)
Pursuing a degree in HVAC-heating and cooling will be of significant value to my psychological and educational goals within the next ten years. I will learn various aspects and comprehend the practical and theoretical notions of heating and cooling as presented in the course. Notably, the degree will entail features of air conditioning, ventilation, electricity, cooling, and heating.
Engaging in my degree course will present me with educational goals such as time management, resilience, communication skills, technical skills, and being goal-oriented, among others. For example, attending the allocated lessons will include a timetable that will act as a foundation for my time management skills in the future (Karlen et al., 2019). Time management is essential in attaining the degree successfully, and it will help in dealing with clients when I secure a job after accomplishing the course. Learning about being goal-oriented to accomplish my degree will set a foundation for attaining career-related and other goals (Karlen et al., 2019). Learning technical skills as an educational goal from the degree will help me perform tasks related to heating and cooling. Additionally, the technical skills will also assist in other fields such as understanding electrical wirings among other related tasks.
Taking part in this degree course will expose me to students from diversified cultures. The socialization processes during group works and assignments will set a foundation for my future socialization skills with clients, family, and friends (Karlen et al., 2019). I will learn specific aspects of dealing with diversified cultures; hence, I will acquire substantial knowledge in dealing with clients during my career within the next ten years.
Concerning mental aspects, the setting of SMART goals is significant in higher education to accomplish the set goals (Karlen et al., 2019). Steps in setting and attaining mental and educational goals entail being SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, results-oriented, and time-bound). Being specific while setting objectives is significant, and it will ensure the accomplishment of the goals. For instance, I will have to set goals for my grades, internship, and career in the future; hence, I will require exact objectives. Measurable goals will assist me in evaluating the benefits of the set goals (Karlen et al., 2019). The degree will also help in setting realistic goals that will assist me in future activities either related to the course or in real life. Achieving results-focused goals will assist me in planning for future career goals (Karlen et al., 2019). Lastly, learning about time-bound goals will assist in setting deadlines for each goal and the execution of complex tasks.
These mental and educational goals learnt in the HVAC training course will supply me with the required values in the educational and career field. Literature review from different theories will present ideas that support technical operations in different tasks, while the practical part of the learning will arm me with technical skills.
