Introduction
Cancer is characterized by rapid growth of body cells. This increase is so fast that the cells can no longer be controlled by the various biological processes of the body. This massive growth makes the body cells to be out of control and overshadow the normal cells thus impairing how they should function. Healthy body cells divide and grow in an orderly manner which makes it easier for them to perform their functions efficiently. At the same time, these healthy cells die after some time thereby giving room for new cells that are being formed.
Cancer is caused by some elements commonly referred to as carcinogenic compounds. These compounds facilitate carcinogenesis which is the process of cancer formation. These compounds can alter how the metabolic processes of the cells are and also change the genome of the living being. An example of such substances includes tobacco contained in cigarettes, exposure to the sun’s Ultra violet rays and other forms of harmful radiations (Steenland, 2010). There are four stages of cancer development. The first two stages 1 and 2 being the early stages of the cancer growth. The third stage and the fourth stage representing the late stages of the cancer disease.
Several types of cancers have been known to exist. These tumors can occur just and about any part of the body. The most common cancer diseases that have been recorded include; lung cancer, breast cancer, colon cancer, blood cancer and brain cancer (Steenland, 2010).
Cancer cells can develop in a specific area such as in the lungs and spread to another area such as in the bone. Once in the bone, the lung cancer cells start their rapid growth all over again. This spread of cancer cells from one region to the other is called metastasis.to the medical practitioners these cancer cells are not regarded as bone cancer but rather as lung cancer cells having originated from the lungs. Cancers are named according to their areas of Genesis.
Cancers are different and unique in different ways. Although cancer cells are known to grow rapidly, some cancer cell grows slowly but ultimately crowding their regions of growth. Cancer treatments vary and are undertaken depending on the cancer type and stage of growth. These different treatments include; use of radiation-this is used to kill the cancerous cells or slow down their growth, surgery-used to remove the malignant tumors or parts of the affected organs and chemotherapy-this involves the administration of drugs to kill cancer cells or slow down their growth. This form of treatment is effectively used for cancers that have spread to vast regions of the body as drugs have a far broader reaching effect.
Most cancers will form lumps in their regions of growth. These bumps are referred to as tumors or simply growth (Tseng, 2008).it is from these tumors that doctors remove cells to determine the type of cancer present. Not necessarily all lumps in the body are as a result of cancer. There are lumps known as benign. Cancer does not cause these lumps. Lumps that are caused by cancer are called malignant lumps.
Cancer is only a ‘modern, man-made disease.’
In the middle of the year 2010, a story was run on the Seattle Times about a long-serving chemist, Sue Crump. A year later in 2011 Sue Crump was reported to have succumbed to pancreatic cancer.it was reported that she had spent much of her twenty years career dispensing chemotherapy drugs.as part of her dying wish, Crump requested that truth about her illness be told. She believed that her exposure to chemotherapy drugs such as doxorubicin, methotrexate, cyclophosphamide, and fluorouracil had a direct impact on her predicaments (Tseng, 1997).
Her story resonates so much with the belief that indeed chemotherapy causes cancer. A disease that it should treat. This belief is further solidified by statistical studies on the frequency of cancer case among nurses and physicians offering chemotherapy to cancer patients. They make themselves glass houses in the name of a profession but yet go around throwing stones. Tragic!
Every oncologist knows that chemotherapy drugs do cause some genetic damage. This damage goes a long way in altering how body cells develop. Altering their functionality too.as a result of unprecedented spills chemotherapy drugs have been found on countertops, floors, keyboards and other areas where humans have come into contact with them. Most of these chemotherapy drugs are genotoxic. This means that they can alter and bring about gene mutations.
A study done by a Danish doctor from the 1940s through to 1980s showed that cancer doctors and nurses are at a higher risk of developing cancer. This was directly related to their interaction with the chemo drugs. It could not have been a case of far too unlucky person but the reality of coming into contact with cancer-treating drugs.
The study has shown that patients suffering from one particular cancer when injected with chemo drugs they are at a high risk of developing different cancer. The caregiver and the oncologist are often tempted to claim that they healed first cancer but fail to disclose that their treatment and drugs administered directly led to the other form. This is because the chemo drugs administered are carcinogenic, toxic and harmful to the immune system.
There are obvious signs that chemo drugs are harmful. First chemo drugs will lead to the patients having their hairs falling off. The patients feel dizzy most of the times, and in most cases, the patients are reported to be vomiting a lot. Patients on chemo drugs experience dehydration. Anemia cases among the patients are also reported. These signs do not just bring to light that cancer is a killer disease but rather confirm the chemo drugs administered are both harmful and carcinogenic (Boffetta, 2007).
In 1996 the world health organization (W.H.O) found Tamoxifen to be carcinogenic. This drug (Tamoxifen) is still being used in chemo drugs in the treatment of cancer. This glaring evidence just shows how the pharmaceutical industry involved in the manufacturing and selling of chemo drugs has become cancerous to the human population. As long as the profits and gains do trickle in then the rest doesn't matter. Including those tasked with administering the drugs. For instance, in the United States, conventional cancer treatment generates over $200 Billion annually. The pharmaceutical industry involved would rather keep on selling these drugs due to the high profits that they rake in.
On the other hand, scientific study has shown a contrary opinion. Cancer in no way is a manmade problem. Several factors have been proven beyond reasonable doubts to be contributing to the many cases of cancer being reported and recorded.
