Cell phones are the most used source of communication in society today. Almost everyone has access to a smartphone, therefore, granting them access to the internet. The internet has transformed cell phones from just being devices to text and call to wonder tools due to cutting-edge technology (Estrin & Meyer, 2009). Though cell phones in classroom settings cause distractions and disruptions, teachers should be allowed to have their phones with them as there are innovative learning tools and aid in teaching.
Cell phones are efficient learning tools. Cellphone technology can aid teachers in their research. Instead of spending hours in the library, the teacher can search for anything on the internet and get results faster. The vast of information on the internet also serves as a reference. When faced with a challenge in class, the teacher can always look up the information on the internet and provide clarification (Yanrong, 2013). The internet also consists of learning websites that can help a teacher supplement teaching in class (Estrin & Meyer, 2009). Cellphones aid teachers in keeping track of student's homework in the school portal; also, some teachers save their notes and reminders on their phones. Moreover, teachers can use their cell phones to demonstrate presentations and course videos to the students. Therefore, cell phone technology has modernized learning.
