All companies aiming towards becoming competitive giants and leaders in the market should ensure that their systems are functioning properly for every action which the company takes in determining its future wellbeing. In the case of NIBCO’s aiming at developing a strategic information system plan, it was important to meet the business goal.
Having a Boston consulting group was important for the organization. Through the review which was conducted by BCG, there was a need to replace the legacy systems by one which is integrated where the work was to be done for a period of over 3 to 5 year period. On implementing the plan Gary Wilson with 20 years’ experience was hired.Getting into the company he was heading a group of over 30 employees and contractors.
At the time BCG consulting group came on board for study purposes there was dissatisfaction with the legacy system which was in use at the time. The major problem that existed at the time was the disconnect which was occurring in the system and breakdowns which led to unhappiness.
