Introduction United States achieved the position of dominance over other nations in the world after the World War II. The achievement was motivated strongly by the presence of the strong economy, an immense international political power, overpowering military, and, a strong national ideology that the government in the US. The rising of America to a superpower status began when it enters into World War I. It made the United States to claim the border democracy than those that prevailed in the Europe continent. It is as a result of the World War II and its effects that cause the US to experience such a preponderance of power in the world (Eliasson 2013). However, before the war US were fit to be described as the great power, although it was erroneous to describe it as a superpower at that point. Through the war, US gained its strength towards world affairs from its status as the economic power. International Events In the times before the commencement of the war, America was the largest producer in the world. The nation was having the ‘five years plan’ that aimed at modernizing the Soviet economy. The implementation led to the resulting of other similar policies from the widely divergent origins. Besides, Roosevelt’s isolationism emerged from the prevalent domestic and full desire to remain neutral in any occurrence of any international conflicts. Bringing believe that Americans entered the World War I merely to save the investments of industry capitalism in the Europe. The signing of the Neutrality Act of 1935 made the US illegal in shipping arms to the belligerents of any conflict within Europe. The Act made allowed the purchasing of non-armaments from the US only by the belligerents. It was as a result that belligerents could no longer sustain the cost of the offensive war (Eliasson 2013). American factories also switched from the civilian to military production. The switching was due to the staggering quantity of the Allied purchases that called forth something like the war mobilization in the United States. It also led to global equilibrium that allowed the US to prosper and grow in virtual isolation since 1815 was considered to have gone forever due to a short but shattering war. In the year 1898, US domestic gun support for the independence of Cuba enmeshed the US in the struggle with Spain over the ownership of the island nation. Therefore, the decision aiming to help Cuban resistance was the significant departure from the traditional American practice of liberal nationalism, and the result of that decision had far-reaching outcomes. Therefore, US suddenly became a colonial power with overseas dependencies (Ian 2015). Aspects of US America has continued to rise as the world superpower and will remain dominant for the foreseeable future. It is possible as the American economy continues to be the bedrock of the global financial system. Over eighty percent of the all financial transactions carried out in the world conducts in dollars. Also, eighty-seven percent of foreign currency market transactions are conducted in dollars. Also, America political influence and power comes in many dimensions. The US foreign aid forms an effective way to cement its political clout globally. For instance, after the World War II the US doled out 32.7 billion dollars in financial assistance. These turns out that money buys high political cooperation from countries in need (Eliasson 2013). The US has the longest and oldest working national constitution in the world and strong institutions and rule of law that accompany it. Furthermore, American’s military superiority remains unrivaled. The US accounts for the thirty-seven percent of global military spending, and it spends more than four times what the world’s number two spender spends. The US dominates across sea, land, and, space that makes it rise to be the world superpower policemen. It gives the growing importance of the technology sector to the US forming a big deal over other nations (Ian 2015). The combination of these aspects strengthens America across the board in economics, political influence, military, and, innovations. These makes American to enjoy the privilege position in the world today making it be in the superpower nation. Driving forces fuelling policy decisions The development of the thermonuclear weapons and intercontinental missile in the year the 1950s brought chilling dimension to the US-Soviet rivalry. It made the US capable of annihilating any nation and most of the rest of the planet. Therefore, it was upon the US leaders to determine whether humankind survived or vanished in a radioactive firestorm. Making the US be a superpower nation that no other country or community could survive uncomfortable depending on the decision of the controller of nuclear arsenals that continue to grow in their terrifying lethality. Therefore, the driving force were mainly concerned about the communism take over, provis...
