The author has highlighted that schizophrenia is higher in immigrants than the original inhabitants of Western Europe. Blacks are observed to have the highest rate of the disorder than the whites. A study carried in the U.K. stated that the Afro Caribbean ethnic has a nine-fold while the black African have six-folds. The Black African have the increased rate of infection by the schizophrenia than the whites. I am happy because of the impressive evidence considering the procedures taken to research but the results may be biased because of racial and ethnic differences in the Western Europe (Bresnahan, et al., 2007). The comparison on the rate of schizophrenia can send more light and show whether the research is accurate or biased. The other vital issues are the implications of health disparity in the U.S., and thus requires some examination. The health disparities between blacks and whites in the U.S. begin even before birth and proceeds on a lifetime. This disparity is similar to that of schizophrenia, and Africans have higher chances compared to the Whites. The inequality is associated with differences in race marital status and social, economic factors. In my opinion, I disagree with the author that marital status and social, economic factors are consequences of the disparities. On the other hand, I can agree with the findings on the higher rate of differences among the black compared to the whites because the results did not show evidence of bias (Bresnahan, et al., 2007).
