Reflecting on My Experience as a Texas MBA Student
My graduation day has arrived, and I feel very proud and excited for this even in my life. Two years as a Texas MBA student has been a rich and rewarding period that has forced me to develop in modern ways. Furthermore, this period has also enabled me to evolve into a cautious and analytical thinker over various issues affecting our lives. Reflecting on my experience as a whole, I am thrilled to use the skills and knowledge gained from my two-year period at McCombs to make significant impacts on my society and assist various organizations in developing sustainably and influencing global change.
Typically, the McCombs culture has been very accommodative, supportive, and inclusive since day one of my admission. With the diverse cultural aspects of students from different cultural backgrounds across the globe, I quickly felt comfortable in the new environment far away from home. I was able to interact with my fellow students from diverse cultural backgrounds. Besides, I felt at home contributing my opinion, sharing, and learning more about other people's cultural aspects, learning about new things through exchanging ideas during our collaborative classrooms, McCombs.
At graduation, I see myself surrounded by new friends, who, together with the faculty, helped make the challenging and fulfilling two-year McCombs program one of the most significant memorable milestones on my career path. I intend to pursue future business opportunities in the renewable energy sector together with some of them. Therefore, besides the educational accomplishments I achieved and the business skills I acquired at McCombs, I sincerely appreciate the social and business contacts I made over the last two years.
Looking back, my first year at McCombs was vital for me since its campus, with its thriving and active sense of community, provided a soft landing for my wife and me. We moved here together, so it was imperative to settle in a dynamic city such as Austin, which offers excellent social and professional opportunities, especially its ever-expanding high-tech environment. While learning inside the classroom was a top priority, I also emphasized getting to know my fellow students by participating in various social and professional events. I especially enjoyed the global field trips, Thursday + Think and Drink events, and MBA soccer club practices, where I used my soccer skills to help the McCombs soccer team win the annual MBA program tournament.
Since consulting in the clean energy and sustainability sectors are my future career goals, I see myself on graduation day being an alumnus of the McCombs Energy Finance Group (EFG). I am confident that after participating in EFG for two years, wave energy will be a severe new topic in the Renewable and Sustainable List Agenda. I will be proud to have brought my extensive experie
