Reflection Essay
Ever since I was a child, teaching was a great passion for me. During the childhood games, I could practice teaching offering services to fellow children, and for sure it was enjoyable. At times, we could play, and I was given a role of being an administrator while teaching certain subjects. My favorite subjects were sciences and math. I liked the two since my teachers from those departments were encouraging and strict. I admired their teaching methods, and on many occasions, while playing, I emulated their style. It increased my bond towards my friends and I as they thought I was a perfect teacher who showed love and care towards other. My parents were also perplexed at my behavior and on few occasions could eavesdrop at my room to watch me play. My mother used to offer encouragement that I can become a great teacher if I continue with such a spirit. However, my father thought that this was just childhood games and when I grow up, I could become something else. In particular, he wanted me to choose a career which was related to business and economics.
As I grew up, my affection for children and teaching become stronger. It came to the point that my mother and could visit children homes and offer food and clothing to the orphaned kids. This behavior stuck in me till when I was in senior class level. I had a friend who had a sad but amazing story. She could have nights without food and parents who mistreated her. I even asked her to join my family until when she was able to stand on her own but was afraid of the parents. When in college, I started to major in teaching which I further added more education pertaining care of children and other managerial duties in offices and at a personal level.
