Automobiles have been used for transportation since the early 1900’s. Pollution is a huge global problem and automobiles contribute to the rising levels of pollution (Saty, 2001). In my opinion, all automobiles should not be banned for reducing pollution. The significance of automobiles in the daily lives of human beings is enormous. Firstly, in case all automobiles are banned in order to reduce pollution, the road transport will be completely paralyzed and many commercial and individual operations will come to a halt. Secondly, there are several other methods of reducing pollution other than banning all automobiles. Thirdly, technological development in the automobile industry promises better future with innovative techniques in producing eco-friendly automobiles.
Banning of all automobiles is a very complicated policy to pass due to the extensive consultations required to implement a ban of such magnitude. Automobiles drive the transport industry countries all over the world. All commercial and individual businesses and operations would be crippled by a single policy to ban all automobiles. As a result, many core operations that enable the running of daily lives of human beings all around the world would stop hence making life as we know it very unbearable.
To address the global issue of pollution, there are several methods that can help reduce pollution drastically without compromising the daily lives of many people.
