The Effects of Health Issues and Diseases of Current Age

The 21 centuries has had its fair share of problems that have affected the health sector in general and healthcare in particular, so we need to look at the major health issues. This will include diseases like diabetes, obesity, AIDS/HIV, lifestyle diseases, heart disease etc. There has been a great increase in morbidity and mortality rates of these diseases. These three main causes are obesity, tobacco use, and alcohol consumption. These diseases affect people of all age groups, with a bigger percentage found in children. It is also important to note that while some of these problems can be managed by diet and exercise with an occasional visit to the doctor, others need more than just these things as they can become chronic. Some of them can even develop into deadly conditions. With that said, the following are the most serious health concern areas that need immediate attention regarding their impact on society. (Dalman et al. 2008)
