This proposed study will use simple regression to examine the impact of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) on imports and exports in Jordan, and how the current high number of immigrants comprised of Syrian refugees has impacted Jordan's FDI. Mukhtarov et al. (2019) state that, developing countries, including Jordan, suffer from structural economic imbalances due to the lack of capital and thus they tend to move towards external financing and Foreign direct investment in particular. FDI is supposed to play an active role of enhancing productive capacities, technology and human capital rehabilitation. However, in some cases, FDI may become a disincentive when it is focused on extractive industries thus exploiting the host country's resources while minimizing its improvement role (Mukhtarov, Alalawneh, Ibadov, and Huseynli, 2019). Therefore, the first part of this study will try to answer the question; does FDI have a positive or a negative impact on imports and exports in Jordan?
