The social media has made the world to be a global village. The term ‘social media’ refers to the various internet-based networks that enable users to interact with others, verbally and visually CITATION Car15 \l 1033 (Carr, 2015). As per several Scholars the causes of use of social media are peer pressure, search for jobs online, as learning platform keeping in touch with friends and also used for marketing goods and service. The impact of social media has always been cyberbullying, miss information, destruction from studies, depression and anxiety. This essay argues that the causes of social media on youth because of peer pressure, search for jobs online, keeping in touch with friends, marketing off goods and services and learning that leads to miss information, cyberbullying, destruction from studies, depression and anxiety.
One of the causes of the use of social media as we stated in the introduction was peer pressure, YouTube, Instagram and Snapchat are the most popular online platforms among teens. Fully 95% of teens have access to a smartphone and 45% say they are online 'almost constantly,' despite the nearly ubiquitous presence of social media in their lives, there is no clear consensus among teens about these platforms’ ultimate impact on people their age CITATION Mel16 \l 1033 (Mellisa, 2016). A plurality of teens (45%) believe social media has a neither positive nor negative effect on people their age. Meanwhile, roughly three-in-ten teens (31%) say social media has had a mostly positive impact, while 24%describe its effect as mostly negative.
Secondly the ability of jobseekers to use social networks effectively during job search is considered a key facet of employability in the modern labor market. Social media tools, and in particular social networking sites such as Facebook and LinkedIn, proffer a potentially crucial utility to networking jobseekers (Mowbray et al, 2016). This can be partly explained by the loosely-knit social circles that such technologies can help to generate across geographical boundaries. The position taken in this paper is that in order to fully comprehend the networking behavior of young jobseekers in the 21st century, it is necessary to examine how they engage with the social media tools that support networks in online environments.
Social media is also used as a learning platform, middle and high school students are using social media to connect with one another on homework and group projects (Mellisa, 2016). For example, Facebook and similar social media programs allow students to gather outside of class to collaborate and exchange ideas about assignments. Some schools successfully use blogs as teaching tools, which has the benefit of reinforcing skills in English, written expression, and creativity.
