Vivaldi's most famous piece (Essay Sample)
The four seasons are Vivaldi's most famous piece, even though he wrote 500 other concertos. His three movements were divided into fast-slow-fast. The movement I choose to listen to is Allegro non molto which is concerto four in the F minor, summer. Often, he loves using word painting in his pieces; for instance, in Winter, he uses "chattering teeth, slipping on ice, stamping feet, and a howling windstorm" basically, when these words are used, the instruments can make the sound as if birds are flying around, along with the “murmuring stream” which equally sounds like water running in the playing music. It also depicts the metaphoric imitations like dissonance that helps underline the winter chill and the rapid scales that portray the swirling winds.
