Your paper should be a minimum of three (3) full pages of double spaced work in 12 point font. You should include a minimum of three (3) references or sources in a References section at the end of your paper. Include a properly formatted cover page with each learning summary. Each summary should analyze the readings from the text, discussions of the key concepts, and a critical analysis of the discussions and writings from the prior weeks of the course.
The learning summary is NOT a chapter- by- chapter summary or a book report, but rather a scholarly paper that is designed to analyze and academically discuss what you have learned and how you can integrate the learning into an organization now and in the future. Be sure to list references in proper APA format and ensure that all listed references are also cited in text. References and citations must be congruent, meaning all listed sources are cited in text and cited sources are listed in the references section at the end of your paper. The Learning Summaries are evaluated on their quality. For each summary, integrate the reading, reflection, discussion and writing for the prior weeks of work and discussion. Be certain to read the assigned readings and complete your readings for the given weeks before completing the learning summary. The learning summary is NOT a chapter- by- chapter summary. It is an analysis of what you have learned and how you can integrate the learning into an organization now and in the future. Think of the “wow” moments in your reading. Be sure to cite in text and provide references. Responses should be about 500 - 600 words (1-2 pages max).

Running an organization effectively demands a lot of skills as well as commitment. Majority of good managers learn different skills to better their strategies on effective and good performance for the organization. There are a variety of things that one may learn that will help them to run the organization better than they ran them earlier. What is more important is learning good management skills and integrating them in the organization’s strategies for development. The following are some of the few ways a manager can improve their skills and thus the productivity for the organization (Nygaard, Holtham & Courtney, 2009).
The first is human resource planning: this involves the way an organization ensures it has the right number and kinds of people needed for efficiency. One of the best ways to ensure a good human resource system is to give a job description and function for every job position. This is done through an analysis of the jobs identified.
Recruiting is a key aspect of finding the right people for the positions. This involves seeking of viable job candidates. Recruiting if not done correctly can be an imminent failure for the organization. Recruiting from a large pool of qualified professionals is the single best idea to ensure that you get only the best qualified. Advertising, internal search and leasing of services among others can be a good source of these candidates (Falcone, 2009).
After numerous requests by viable candidates, it is imperative for an organization to do the selection based on their experience. Experienced members may offer a good chance of picking the right person for a particular position. During interviews as they are the main agenda of selecting candidates; it is important for the interviewer to spell out their expectations and requirements. It is also important to use a structured process for the interviews that will help one selection to be effective.
For an organization to be really effective, it is good to ensure that there is harmony in the working environment. This is done through exploring the social structures in the working environment. In other words, examining socialization in the work place. Various strategies can be undertaken for this case. The most important department to include in this job is the Human Resource department. The department has various functions such as training of new recruits and also explaining the employee’s job postings among others.
The most important step is to identify the department or post responsible for management of the careers in the organization. This post involves providing assistance and information to employees.
