“Your Career Will Never Wake Up and Tell You that it Doesn't Love You Anymore” Lady Gaga.
Lady Gaga’s quote “your career will never wake up and tell you that it doesn't love you anymore” has serious ramifications on relationships. Lady Gaga was advising women that when in a dilemma between leaving their dream jobs or following love, they should not hesitate to choose their careers over love. Lady Gaga probably based her argument on the fact that sometimes irreconcilable differences can occur in a relationship leading to serious emotional issues, separation, or divorce. According to Gandhi (2020), “by the first five years of marriage, 22 percent of couples experience some form of "marital disruption," which refers to separation, divorce or death.” On the contrary, the more time an individual invests in their career and development, the better chances they stand to succeed. Nonetheless, love and career are not incompatible and one should never be forced to choose one over the other. Therefore, I disagree with Lady Gaga that people should always choose their career over love.
