Name: Tutor: Course: Date: A Man for All Seasons The play “A man for all seasons” by Robert Bolt was first performed on 1st July 1960 in London at Globe Theatre. The play made it to Multi-Academy Award winning feature film in 1966 and a television movie in 1988. It is based on a 16th century true story of Sir Thomas More, the then chancellor of England, who refused to approve King Henry VIII”s desire to divorce Catherine of Aragon for failing to bear him a son. The play, “A man for all seasons”, has a good reflection of leader’s views. The decision by Sir Thomas More to stand up against the Kings immoral objectives shows the importance of remaining true to leaders despite the consequences. Additionally, the eventual beheading of Sir Thomas More depicts the grave consequences associated with standing by your principles despite external pressures. Most importantly is the issue false accusation that is forming the most unethical motives among leaders in the highest cadre of bribery. Just before More is beheaded, he was falsely accused of bribery. In the contemporary word, this is shown by a legacy left behind by the late Nelson Mandela, who stood stiff against racism.
