Industrial Revolution and Customer Service
To reach customers, businesses establish communication to grow their enterprises and the industry as well. Despite the size of a firm or the industry, reaching customers is a vital element of business growth since the industrial revolution. In the eighteenth century, businesses based their communication on the limited infrastructure that existed at the time. Unlike today, the communication with their customers was simple and did not involve complex processes due to the lack of supporting structures and limited channels of communication. This paper explores how businesses reached their customers at the time and compares the situation with how busineses reach their customers today.

Businesses currently use telecommunication services to communicate to customers and create a personal appeal to the relationship and customer service.

Businesses reach customers through their internet platforms and receive responses from the consumers. In modern day, businesses have virtually shortened the distance between them and the customers through the use of social networking sites to communicate and share with the customers.
