Indians celebrate Mahatma Gandhi's birthday on 2nd October! Mahatma Gandhi was born in India and spent most of his life fighting for people wherever he traveled. Notably, he played a significant role in agitating for the rights of Indians and Blacks in South Africa during the colonial era. Mahatma Gandhi, a mentor to modern activists, is a historical figure who, despite being a scholar, devoted most of his life to fighting for human rights and self-reliance using non-violent, non-cooperation movements.
Mahatma Gandhi is an inspiration to many because he agitated for the posterity of Indians despite being a scholar. He was devoted to ensuring that India was independent and empowered. According to Nandy and Rinky (2018), Mahatma Gandhi (a lawyer) was an Indian activist; who advocated for self-reliance by encouraging Indians to boycott goods from other countries. The above move was to help local businesses grow. As a result, he was arrested on several instances, but he did not relent in fighting for human rights. Notably, Mahatma Gandhi is a famous historical figure who used his career to fight for the rights of his people.
Additionally, Mahatma Gandhi is an inspiration since he devoted most of his life to agitating for human rights. He is widely celebrated for his use of non-violent means when fighting for the rights of Indian people during his time. According to Nandy and Rinky (2018), Mahatma Gandhi, who was a leader of the Indian National Congress movement, which was "dedicated to achieving liberation by legal and extra-legal means," later became the leader of India (p.2). Even after becoming a national leader, he advocated for self-reliance and human rights until his death.
