The course will be of great importance in my career. I intend to pursue a career as a data scientist. A data scientist collects large data amounts of data, analyses it and proceeds to synthesize the information into an actionable plan for the organization (Waller, & Fawcett, 2013). This career has several tools and processes such as big data, data mining, and data analytics which have been discussed in the course.
The course Data Science and Big Data Analytics have different modules each of which will impact my career uniquely. Introduction to big data analytics will equip me with the state of practice and general knowledge about the career. I have also understood the role of a data scientist and what will be expected of me after I join the industry.
