The Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) represents the phases a software project goes through in ensuring effective implementation to run organizational activities. Therefore, SDLC drives deliverables through a feasibility study that is used in determining the appropriate software for use in approving the development process. Additionally, the feasibility study is an effective deliverable as far as the software development life cycle is concerned because it identifies the right path to be followed in tackling the development of a request (Selvarani & Sankar, 2016). While considering various alternative approaches, the development costs are often given as estimates based on the different kinds of development approaches. If the development approach is not selected from the outcome of the feasibility study, the cost estimates are likely to be inaccurate (Selvarani & Sankar, 2016). The feasibility study is an important SDLC deliverable that should be embraced in various types of software development as it informs significant enhancements and new system developments to be undertaken.
The other deliverable of SDLC is the functional specification which encompasses an examination of business requirements to produce a preliminary design of the proposed system.
