User Evaluation of the Asian Coalition of Tallahassee Website (Essay Sample)

Instructions:

Activity: User evaluation of website
(https://www.asiantlh.org/index.php)
Purpose
In this activity you will test your client's website (https://www.asiantlh.org/index.php) using a friend as a participant to identify issues.
Steps for this research method
1. Design a set of two user tasks for the website. Ask a friend (not someone in this class!) or a family member to serve as a participant.
    a) Describe your tasks, and why you picked them.
    b) Have your friend spend 10-15 minutes attempting to accomplish your tasks.
 Have them talk aloud like describing what they’re thinking and experiencing as they go along. You should act as the silent analyst.
 Take notes on what they do. Note difficulties, failures, successes, the efficiency they are able to operate the website, and other indicators of satisfaction (or lack thereof; smiles, grimaces, comments, etc…). In addition, for each task please record the amount of time spent and the number of errors made by the participant.
   c) Describe how the user testing went! Summarize your tasks, reasoning, observations and findings in a page or two.
2. Interpret your findings.
   a) Explain the website strengths and weaknesses you learned from the user testing that you didn’t know before.
   b) This should be about a half-page in length, maybe more. Including pictures is encouraged.
What to submit
A document around 600 words containing the following:
 Description of the experiment (i.e., the website analyzed, the user tasks used),
 Summary of test results,
 Interpretations of the results and recommendations for the redesign.
