Environmental crime is also known as a green crime which is a crime committed against the environment. It is inclusive of hazardous waste dumping, air pollution, water pollution and deforestation.
Deterrence theory
This theory was introduced for the purpose of gaining control over people with criminal behavior and allowing for the encouragement of compliance. This involves penalizing individuals having sane minds who break the law. This theory argues that individuals will perform a crime which they think are pleasurable and shun away from the one which they perceive to be painful and when they socialize in social media they are a likelihood of committing the environmental crime.
Social bonding theory
This theory states that radical movements may choose to break the law when their bonds are worn or broken. This happens if rational individuals are not socialized away from committing a crime.
Social learning theory
This gives a definition of an individual attitude towards a certain behavior. With this, a person emulates the behavior of other people and if it is about law breaking the individual ends up breaking the law. Therefore, an individual listening for analysis in the media on environmental crimes may emulate some of the negative interpretations
Self-control theory
This theory is urged that a person who basically undergoes through poor parenting may develop low levels of self-control and if this individual happens to socialize with others having the same problem there is a high possibility they will commit a crime as they do not care about anything, anyone or even the environment due to their own personal interests and they end up ...
