In the year 2016, Johnson & Johnson Company was directed by the court in Texas to give a compensation of close to $1 billion to the plaintiffs on allegationsthat the company had deliberatelyhiden the defects on its hips products and had to be removedsurgically (Feeley&Korosec, 2016). According to the court, the company was negligent for failing to bring to the attention of the medical professionals and patients about the defects involved with their products. It is a duty the company owed the patients and they failed to exercise the duty of care which amounted to losses and harm to the patients who had to undergo a surgery for the defect to be corrected.
