Cahokia Archaeological Site
Archaeologists have, over the years, been instrumental in sharing and detailing not only ancient but also recent human history by using material remains. Through archaeologists' efforts, for instance, million-year-old fossils of the earliest human ancestors were found in Africa. They succeed in achieving the above initiative through a combination of various systems, including biological, geological, and environmental. Archaeologists are responsible for reconstructing extinct cultures through the commodities that people during the period either made or used and left behind in a certain region. These commodities and material remains are identified as artifacts and include a range of items such as pots, bows, arrows, digging tools, and sculptures. Through these artifacts, archaeologists investigate and examine patterns and eventually obtain perspectives on the lives of those individuals. Several amazing ruins and archaeological sites have been identified in the US through the above exploits, including Cahokia Mounds State Historic Site. The paper purposes to extensively examine the background and history of the Cahokia Mounds archaeological site.
