Zoos should be abolished
Zoos can be defined as public parks that display animals for the main purposes being recreational and educational purposes. Instead of the animals being kept in orphanages for the case of those found struggling in the national parks alone or in the game reserves zoos are maintained purposely for the case of recreation and education. In the ancient Rome, for example, the animals were kept in order for them to have a living folder for games. Their love for games made them be able to keep animals such as the tigers which came as gifts from Caesar Augustus who was the Indian ruler at the time (Scott and John 123). Over the years animals have being kept in zoos for different purposes. In this paper I look at the importance of banishing of zoos and why animals should be allowed to have a liberty.
The proposition that zoos should be abolished is highly recommendable as it will allow animals to survive and exploit their natural habitats. Though zoos are immensely popular visit sites in the contemporary American social lifestyle, they are becoming extremely controversial picnic sites as such; the institutions are attracting the attention of animal rights advocates and activists and in addition still attract the attention of the animal protection groups and other organizations that are concerned with the welfare of wild animals (Frost 156). Zoos are speedily losing space within the modern society as they touch on the raw nerve of animal lovers due to the conditions that they subject these animals too. The evidence that is available about how zoos treat animals is astoundingly shocking and as such, the zoos are not a recommendable habitat for animals to live for the rest of their lives.
