Introduction
This paper focuses on the impacts of different economic conditions on self-employment in Canada. There are many variables affecting individual businesses in Canada, ranging from government intervention to factors which are beyond individual or even market control. We will not capture all the variables in this particular study; we only concentrate on few variables. Self-employment picked momentum after the financial crisis in the year 2008 to 2009. Many firms retrenched their workers in a bid to curb and reduce the cost of doing business. The Canadian government through different programmes; launched an initiative to encourage self-employment and reliability.
