Leftists view on the role of the government in the economy
There are many views regarding on what role the government should have on the economic aspect of a nation. There are policies and strategies that economists suggest and impose on the role of the government on the economy whether if it should intervene or not. Adam Smith’s notion of the invisible hand signifies that the market should be free and not intervened, however there are instances that this notion is not applicable and therefore should be intervened by an institution, or a system that would aid the market into development which would be the role of the government. However, these strategies may or may not work depending on the actions taken by the government. Most of these theories regarding government intervention are imposed by modern economists like Keynes and for extreme cases, left-wing or leftists ideology wherein the government should be the one who regulates and operates the economy.
