In the book of The Sacred Paths of The East, Buddhism worlds of meaning are explained in such a way that the main theoretical teachings of Buddhism traditions is comprehended. The chapter deals withal facts of Buddhism, its senses in life, how we can apply its teaching in real life. In short, The Sacred Paths of the East by Ludwig Theodor in chapter seven explains Buddhism sacred reality, its origin, path of transformation and human existence. The book describes the four most high realms of Buddhism that are dependent on their belief that humans should try should try to show themselves from what is within their lives (Ludwig, 2015).
Learning, realization, bodhisattva hood, and Buddhahood are the four high realms. The book states that these four worlds represent the efforts of individuals to live with compassion, freedom, and integrity. In the learning realm, Buddhist believes that in order for one to access this realm one should develop the need to gain insight and wisdom without delusion to the true nature of things. The book further explains that people should thus seek wisdom and truth from external source. In the realization realm is where one gains wisdom and knowledge of the world through his own efforts and observations. One can access this realm only when they decide that the interior sources are superior to the external sources. In Bodhisattva hood, realm one desires to gain personal enlightenment but also considers the other people sufferings through kind gestures. In this realm, happiness in the world is gained through benefiting others other than oneself. In the last high realm that is Buddha hood, happiness in the world does not ride on ones limitations. Happiness in this realm is free from anger, suffering, and delusions. One’s happiness reveals complete freedom that is characterized by courage, life force, and wisdom. A fully educated Buddhist has the Buddha hood condition.
Apart from the four high realms in Buddhism, the book further describes other six realms that describe the Buddhists worlds of meaning in relation to religion (Ludwig, 2015). One of the realms described is hell in the Naraka Buddhist world, Buddhist believe that hell is a state of complete aggression where ones freedom is non-existent. Ones circumstances in this realm trap them and hence the person becomes a victim of hate, anger, and frustrations. The next realm is the condition of hunger described in the Buddhist world of Pretas, from the book this realm is described by voracious desires and possessiveness.
