The first century Judaism was a diverse phenomenon. It comprised of the Sadducees, Pharisees, and the Essenes. The Sadducees emerged from the Jewish upper class which supported the stable conditions and social order. The Essenes are not mentioned in the New Testament, but their history is derived from other sources.
On the other hand, the Pharisees, are known as hypocrites throughout the New Testament. They watch the Jewish people observe the holiness code and purity. The Bible demonstrates the first century Judaism as a period that the laws of Moses were followed to the latter. The world believes that the first century Judaism led to the creation of divisions in religion.
Value and importance of the New Testament for the contemporary world
The New Testament depicts the life of Jesus Christi learned that sins separate us from God and repentance are the only way to be cleansed from sins. I also learned that God loves his children to a point of sending his only son to die for us. According to John chapter 3:16.â€For God so loved the world that he sent his only son so that whoever believes in him will not perish but have everlasting lifeâ€.
