Introduction
The book of the courtier is the work of Baldassare Castiglione written in the early 1500 years. The book is a corporation of many components of drama, philosophy work, essay work and conversation.
The book of the courtier focuses on the conversation that takes place between the courtiers, whereby the courtiers are expected to have an attribute of calm thinking and beautiful voice accompanied by appropriate action. In addition, the courtier is required to be brave, to be active and have the wisdom of nature, paradigm and fine arts.
The book of the courtier was popularly known since it was translated in six languages and various editions; more than 20 European centers were set up to distribute the book. The English version of the book had a great impact on the high class of English speakers.
Critic of the book
The rhetoric of the book is that Baldassare is not perfect as many scholars would imply since the author character and speech was well practiced and presented to win and gain fame from the people as well as act an Icon that people will emulate. Everything about the voice and the character was carefully designed to gain popularity among the audience. In addition, the language and style of the writer are contrary to the Baldassare background. The author is a Boccaccio but decides to use Tuscan Italian to write the book which many scholars disregard the ideas terming it as outdated phrases and undesirable.
