In the enlightenment stage, philosophers assumed that human beings could understand the world through human observation and reasoning. This made them believe that if the world's functioning can be understood, it could be changed. They believed neither the universe nor the human beings in it were holy chosen. They believed that people were independent hence responsible for their actions. Thus, enlightenment thinkers come up with modern theories, namely: classical, neo-classical, and rational choice theories. This paper is meant to describe, compare, and contrast these theories.
Description
In crime, classical theory speculates that people get into wrongdoing to lower their suffering and to and to add their pleasures. Also, this theory suggests that the cause of crime is the natural forces (forces that are brought by the world).
