An environment refers to the biological and physical factors that affect a living organism or groups of organisms in a given habitat. In the past decade, managing the environment became a great menace due to increased pollution and failure of adherence to the set rules and regulations that governs it. This paper is an analysis on how the environmental damages have turned out to be inevitable as standards of living are improved across the globe. Many environmental scholars have claimed that the global improvements in the standards of living have significantly influenced the status of the environment. For instance, increased living standards arose from greater consumptions and globalization. In this case, the environment is significantly affected as it assumes the impact of the damages (Ejumudo & Nwador, 2014). This situation is inevitable as it increases the status quo, which in the past influenced it. In other words, when living standards are improved, technological advances are also improved hence resources are drained. The consumption of elements and prolification of gases such as carbon (IV) oxide affects the environment (Ejumudo & Nwador, 2014). In this manner, a condition whereby improved living standards bring more damages to the environment is created. The unprecedentation of this scale is justified due to the continuous desires for the global economic growth. As individuals are driven by the urge to improve their economic lives, the environmental damages become more severe. In summary, the need for improved living standards triggers many environmental consequences of which some are negative. Additionally, the assumptions that the realities dawned here are unavoidable lock people in conditions where they assume impossibility in change.
