Good ethical principles pronounce that people should do what they consider is it justifiably right to those around. The action taken can either positively or negatively affect the concerned person. While deciding on choosing a set of actions to implement in any situation, the impact on the affected person should not be a guiding factor. Some situations require sympathy, but whoever is in control of the course of action should only consider if the required action lies in the provisions of the jurisdictions. In this regard, this paper gives a suggestion and evaluation of the best policy needed to solve the dilemma facing Greg as well as other forms of right ethical principles.
According current state of affairs, it is clear that Natalie has completely bestowed burden on the group members. Despite all these, she is not apologetic to her actions. Therefore, she should be awarded a merciless evaluation. In this case, she understand her behavior maximally and she should not expect marks to add up to her GPA from nowhere. The group members need to observe good ethical principles such as honesty, justice, fairness, truthfulness. In doing this, they will reduce the rate of producing half-baked graduates from institutions of higher learning. For instance, telling lies during the evaluation process will assist the girl to obtain grade A. However, the same person will be unable to write a project immediately after graduating.
On the other hand giving her a bad evaluation will affect the nature of friendly relationship existing between them. This can last for a short while before reshaping back normality. According to the requirements of good ethical principles, honesty should prevail. For instance, Greg should not consider the hate that will emerge after submission of the project. Instead, the outcome will wake up Natalie from her deep slumber. She will be in a position of taking in instruction and implementing them accordingly. In the process, the will have reformed her mind and this attitude will stand to greatly benefit her lifetime actions.
Natalie’s case is also a way of violating the principle of responsibility and fidelity. Fidelity requires a relationship of trust between the involved individuals.
