There has been a widespread acknowledgment of ethics in the workplaces. Ethics in the workplace translate into high motivation and loyalty to the employer (Barak, 2016). A directive exists that establishes the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) policy on the ethical conduct and responsibilities of employees and outlines the duties and responsibilities of ethics officials. A security consulting firm defines ethics via the enclosed values: Professionalism, integrity, competence, objectivity, accuracy, conflicts of interest, confidentiality, loyalty, equal opportunity, the public interest.
