Studying family systems increase the range of developmental perspectives that facilitates personal growth on your own life. Families in today’s world are lively and mutually dependent systems (Barry, P. D., & Farmer, S, 2012, p78). Healthy growth of the family deeply depends on by how the family system operates. Developmental change is part of what it means to be alive. Therefore, the family has been the crucial social institution for raising kids since the children need support, love, discipline as well as nurturing.

In general, spiritual development has considerable currency towards the development of children and adolescents. Parents have an important task of guiding their children through their spiritual development (Peterson, & Bush, 2013, p23). Children in unhealthy family system frequently suffer from one or more forms of abuse. Children that suffer from one or more of abuses can quickly become depressed and are at high risk for suicide. Victims of psychological and physical abuse suffer from permanent changes due to the abuse. Therefore, a healthy family system is crucial for raising emotionally, loving and confident as well as balanced child.

The developmental approaches share a number of commonalities which help individuals to improve their lives. Unhealthy family systems usually depend on the parents who are unable to create personal and lasting relationships outside the home.
