Unethical behavior primarily refers to the kind of exhibited by employees or individuals that do not conform to the moral standards of the community, company, or organization. Unethical behavior is often a huge issue at places of work since it causes lots of problems in various institutions that lead to the failure or total collapse of a firm.
Unethical behavior by employees increases organizational costs in the following ways. At bedrock, when employees still the organizations, property, or tools they use to conduct their daily tasks, this would directly lead to an increase in the organization's cost of operations since they would now have to pay another amount to but the goods that have been stolen by the same employees (Klein et al., 2019). Again, misuse of the company's time would greatly lead to increased organizational costs in the following criteria. For instance, if an employee is allocated time to perform the task within the organization and fails to perform it, the company would now have to outsource additional manpower that would help complete the task of the project in time. Concisely, this would increase the cost of operation for the company as they would now have to use additional funds to hire individuals who would come to complete the project.
