Isorenieratane a biomarker
Name

Isorenieratane is a biomarker found in different rock samples and is associated with paleontological events. A great loss of biodiversity happened after the Permian period. Sediments left due to volcanic activity during this period can be analyzed through the selection and detection of biomarker compounds. Isorenieratane is one of the compounds formed in some of these sediments. it is an important compound that indicates the presence of photic zone.
The origin of fluid hydrocarbons has been provided through extensive geochemical research in petroleum. Samples of rocks in the Hovea oil field were analyzed to find out the concentration of isorenieratane. A qualitative and quantitative measurement of chemical compounds in samples was achieved through the use of a Hylogger. Spectroscopy was further applied to find the concentration of isorenieratane in the samples chosen. This was successful with reflectance spectra.
The saturation of isorenieratane differs in different samples and a normal hull quotient was used to differentiate its spectra from other compounds. In sand, the rate of absorption of isorenieratane was found to be 0.03 milliliters. The same concentration was found in sandstone but the concentration increased from the 1200 nanometer mark. In shale, this figure is notable around 1200, 1700 and 2300 points in the scale; it doubles at the 1149 nanometer point.
Isorenieratane is the main compound found in the mixed spectra of saturated samples. Other compounds found in the rock samples include bitumen, which forms the main component o...
