Introduction
It has been said that, it is impossible to change the fruit without having to change the root first. According to Thomas Kuhn, evolutionary science that is also called a paradigm shift is the change in the basic assumptions of the main theory of science or paradigm. For instance, the realness of corrections today is that they are changing (Khun, 2012). The main components of the paradigm shift that have occurred in the corrections environment in the past decade include; ongoing budget concerns, privatization, security, technology, litigations, inmate management, workforce management, program issues etc.
The most significant paradigm evolving change is the ongoing budget concerns. Budget restrictions in a choked economy will continue to exert pressure with the aim of finding new ways of achieving a mission. These pressures are responsible for the delay in the opening of constructed state facilities due to the incapability of affording new staff (Trestman, 2000).
The predicted future implications that will be inspired due to this relative change is that facilities will be able to employ new staff members (Trestman, 2000). There will be more state facilities, and other correctional facilities will not be closed due fiscal cutbacks.
In conclusion, we have been evolving for millions of years and we will continue to evolve. It all begins with what we perceive be it met-a-normal or normal, unconscious or conscious. All of these are subjected to distortion and limitations that are produced by our social and inherited conditional nature.
