Introduction
Philosophy is a field aimed at reducing human suffering by defining how human beings define change with the things they interact with. It involves an array of arguments meant to decipher the most critical questions humans view as challenging in their day-to-day lives. Today, innovative work in philosophy encompasses the analysis of information through organizational understanding and leadership. Most of the innovation usually takes place when it comes to the case of applied ethics (Brown, 2018). This is a field that is associated with the identification as well as the analysis of social problems in society. It appears as a means by which problems can be solved and deal with issues that affect humanity in their day-to-day lives (Heidenblad et al., 2020). Philosophy has been an important tool by which philosophers have been able to operationalize moral goods, where they have come up with tools that aim to tackle the social problems in society. In this research, we will consider three philosophers' ideas that make the world a better place, as initiated by different early philosophers.
Aristotle on the categorization of knowledge into various fields
Categorizing knowledge into different fields has been important in realizing philosophical ethics. It is a basis by which different persons in our day-to-day lives can use their knowledge to grow the overall performance in their respective places. Aristotle, a Greek philosopher, coined the idea. He was born in Stagira, Greece and was known for contributing to the classical period when there was a boom in intellectual growth in ancient Greece. Aristotle pointed out that there are three types of knowledge: Techne, Episteme, and Phronesis. Episteme points to scientific, Techne points to craft, while Phronesis relates to ethical knowledge.
In this idea, Aristotle meant that the knowledge of craft is the realm that relates to the case of art and craft or a certain form of creation. He pointed out that in this creation, there is a need to have a certain knowledge which he referred to as techne. This, for example, is the case of making a machine where one is required to have technical knowledge that, without the process, fails (Brown, 2018). Episteme knowledge is a type of knowledge that Aristotle points out that forms a piece of knowledge on the opposite of the creation of something but rather lies in the analysis of what already exists in the world. This is scientific knowledge, for example, in the case of newton’s law of gravity. This was already existent, and therefore no creation happened. Rather there was an invention (Heidenblad et al., 2020). The other is Phronesis which is a reliance on ethical knowledge that relies on ethical virtue. This applies when we use practical wisdom in making ethical judgments and further make a strong basis for moral habits and behaviours (Adefarasin, 2022). For example, is the case where an individual states that it is wrong to lie, which indicates that they are applying their ethical knowledge in the development of the moral judgments presented to them. Through the implications of the three forms of knowledge, one can make ethical decisions based on the facts, ethics, and knowledge available (Shraim, 2021). This can thus be able to foster distinctive knowledge traits.
The idea's critics sprout from deciding when the decision should be craft based, scientific, or ethical. This occurs especially in developing distinctive leadership traits (Brown, 2018). The three types of knowledge, therefore, help define managers with certain skills, such as techne, to be able to focus on creative ideas rather than on scientific knowledge, which they might not be better at (Heidenblad et al., 2020). This can therefore help in the real world to group people based on their strengths and act6uations in the workplace to avoid any overlap of skills unnecessarily.
