Justice is driven by the principle of fairness and equality which are achieved by punishing the wrongdoers in the society and upholding the morally upright. In the book “Plato’s Republic,” the writer uses a Socratic dialog to help readers understand the concept of justice including the character and order of a just-city. The writer compares the just and unjust man and asks the question whether the just person is more fulfilled and happier than the unjust. The book has gained popularity among the political and philosophical clan as it challenges the intellect of justice in the society. On the other hand, economics is the backbone that drives a society’s ability to acquire and retain wealth. The book “Wealth of nations” centers on the question why some nations prosper more than others. Consequently, it discusses the human need to be self-centered in terms of prosperity. The purpose of this paper is to use both of these books to answer several questions on both justice and economics thus giving the reader a clear understanding of the two philosophical concepts.
