Abstract
Just like any other country, America, despite being one of the most developed countries globally, experiences various problems and issues that affect its economy and citizens’ social lives. The Americans have raised various critical and pressing issues in the country. To start with, students’ security and general security are major concerns. Additionally, there are other various pressing problems such as poor medical systems, housing, food, cracks in the federal system, radical gun laws, immigration, terrorism, jobs, and educational problems. The above-mentioned problems have affected individuals for decades and require serious attention. They need to be addressed because every American citizen has rights to them and lack or deprivation of the above rights can lead to further damages both in the country and externally. Moreover, solving the problems requires both federal and individual efforts. This paper, therefore, discusses the various pressing problems in the United States and the measures required to curb them.
Cracks in the Federal System
The current federal system disputes are more subtle and difficult to resolve than they were a decade or so ago. Furthermore, the chances for any long-term adjustment in the states' ties with the government are bleak. Most federal statutes have an expiration date in the past. They must be reauthorized by Congress, or at the very least be altered or extended for a certain period, to continue in effect. The reauthorization process, on the other hand, has become one of the victims of the near-paralysis which currently defines much of American activity.
The resiliency and vibrancy that states have shown in the federalist state for centuries are being put to the ultimate test. When the system was strained by unfunded mandates and preemption in the past, state lawmakers sought relief through legislation and presidential directives. Experts agree that the current tensions are systemic: severe partisanship and division, as well as the federal government's underlying fiscal problems. Legislative or regulatory measures will never solve these problems. In other words, the federal system's fractures are profound and likely to worsen for some time.
Gun violence
Radical gun laws have also become a crucial issue in the states. For instance, many people acquire guns and become untamable, thus using them for criminal activities. An example is the shooting of an unarmed student in Florida (Weinstein, 2012). The Florida statute that made headlines this spring when the unarmed teen Trayvon
